JUNIOR EXCELLENCE TENNIS PROGRAM
Session Fall I
Sep. 8 - Nov. 1, 2008 (8 weeks)

The Burke Junior Excellence Tennis Program will be geared towards achieving both technical and strategic improvement in a small group atmosphere. The program will feature intense drills, singles and doubles strategy, conditioning and footwork drills, coupled with competitive games and match play. Video analysis, videos by world renowned tennis pros, and videos of professional match play will be utilized.


Sessions will be directed by Paul Fisher, PTR, BRSC Tennis Director, and Head Coach of the title-winning Robinson Rams. He will be assisted by Tim Bainton, former #1 at George Mason University and world ranked junior. In addition, he also will be assisted by Kim Dillard, PTR, USPTA Master Professional. All students in the Burke Junior Excellence Tennis Program must be accepted into their group by the Tennis Director.

 

Varsity I
Geared to focused high school varsity players who already have varsity experience and tournament competition who are trying to take it to the next level.

Varsity II
For those high school team players that are preparing to play starting varsity roles and moving into tournament competition. This group will also feature advanced strokes and stroke production as well as the basics of strategy.

This group aspires to make a high school team or to try to move up in the lineup and take their first steps in varsity & tournament competition. There will be instruction to further refine their strokes and the basics of strategy and match play.

Junior Stars
This group’s objective is to play Junior Team Tennis and USTA Futures tournaments at the 12 & 14 & under Advanced level. Drills will concentrate on basic stroke production and refining it. Sessions will use strokes to teach singles & doubles strategy.
