Tai Chi for Health
Tai Chi, originally developed as a martial art, is now practiced for its health benefits. Studies have shown that Tai Chi practice can improve balance and flexibility, lower blood pressure and reduce stress. Increasingly, Tai Chi is being recommended as an aid in the treatment of arthritis, Parkinson’s disease and hypertension. The slow gentle movements, described as moving meditation, are appropriate for all age groups. The instructor, Jim DiStefano, has practiced Tai Chi for ten years and has a black belt in Tai Chi/Qi Gong. The class is open to both members and non-members with enough class participants.
